Sunday 15th August Round 8 - Ipswich (held at Braintree)
Once again Peterborough riders turned out in force at Braintree, who was holding round 8 of the summer regional series on behalf of Ipswich. All Peterborough riders did themselves proud with some excellent results.
Ella Foster riding for the girls 6 and under got a 1st in all of her moto’s and taking her 1st in her final.
Mollie Foster racing the girls 7-8 took the 2nd in all of her moto’s and finished 1st in her final.
Young Josh Crisp riding in the 6 and under boys had fantastic results for only his second race of the series, resulting in an overall 2nd place in his final.
In the Male 7 -8 yrs saw the talents of Charlie Foster and Sam Stonebridge both riding extremely hard with Charlie taking the 2nd in all of his moto’s and the final, with Sam following closely taking the third place in all of his moto’s and the final.
In the Male 8 Yrs, young Alex Leach put his little legs to work, resulting with 4th place in all 3 moto’s and finishing 5th in the final.
Racing for the 9 Yr girls, Deborah Parrish did it for the girls, taking a 1st in all of her moto’s and finishing 1st in her final. Well done.
Jehu Parrish, racing the Male 10 Yrs had a 6th, 5th and 6th in his motos, and taking 5th place in the final.
Alex Campbell, Callum Raven and Elijah Parrish competing against each other in the Male 12 Yrs, Alex Campbell looking very determined took the 3rd, 4th and 4th in his motos, with Callum Raven taking a 4th, 2nd and 2nd and Elijah Parrish took 5th, 4th, and a 5th, the final saw Callum Raven take the 2nd, Campbell taking the 4th and Parrish taking the 6th.
Male 13 Yrs saw Nathan Hastings take the 1st place through all his motos and the 1st place in the final, while newcomer Adam Chambers took the 4th, 3rd and 3rd in the motos, and a 3rd in the final.
Thomas Drinkwater riding the Male 14 Yrs did exceptionally well and would have had 3rds straight through unfortunately got pushed off the track and took a 4th in his 3rd moto, finishing 3rd overall in his final. Great shame.
Ryan Leach was flying in the Male 15 Yrs taking a 1st 2nd and a 2nd in his moto’s and finishing 2nd overall in his final.
In the Female 13-14 Yrs once again saw Shekinah Parrish taking the lead in all of her moto’s taking the 1st place and the 1st in her final
Katie Plumb riding the Girls 11-12 Yrs also had a fantastic days racing resulting with her finishing overall 2nd in her final, well done.
The male 40-44 Yrs saw Mark Leach, Nigel Stonebridge, Steven Hatch and Danny Ancell competing against each other, with Leach taking the 2nd place through all of the motos, Stonebridge taking the 3rd, Hatch taking the 4th and Ancell taking the 5th. The final took a turn with Leach taking the 2nd and Hatch taking the 3rd from Stonebridge who took the 4th and Ancell taking the 5th,

Well what an exciting day for everyone involved not just those that were racing but for those that were involved in the other perhaps less fun jobs, everyone worked hard and a fantastic day was had by all. We as a club would also like to say a Big Thank You to Richard Eames for the commentary, it was great.
Now to the important part the racing
It was the M/F 8-9 yrs that was the winning age group picked to race for the “Golden Ticket £220 Cash Race” with the lucky Lochlan Dudley taking first prize of £100, with runners up Nathan Wood from Peterborough taking 2nd place and receiving £40, and Oliver Rowe from Braintree BMX club talking 3rd place and receiving £30.
Other results included Sam Stonebridge taking a 1st and Charlie Foster 2nd place in the M/F 7 and unders A Final with Owen Scattergood taking 7th, Drew Raven took 1st place and David Jones 2nd in their B Final.
In the M/F 8-9 Yrs we saw Peterborough Riders Nathan Wood taking 2nd place , Deborah Parrish taking 5th place in their A final, with Mollie Foster 2nd , Alex Leach 4th, Brandon Morais 5th, and Jake Newton taking their places in their B Final.
The M/F 10-11 Yrs saw James Camwell taking 6th Place and Jehu Parrish finishing overall 7th after a very nasty crash on the first straight, resulting in a broken arm.
The M/F 12-13 Yrs saw Peterborough riders Nathan Hastings taking the first place, with Shekinah Parrish taking the 3rd, Callum Raven 4th ,Adam Chambers taking 5th and Alex Campbell taking the 8th place in their A Final. Elijah Parrish took the 1st place in his B Final with Liam Whitney taking the 4th
In the M/F 14-15 Yrs, Peterborough riders Shane Mills took the 1st place with Leo Jones taking 2nd, a young Michael Ledlie took the 4th, Bethany Campbell took the 5th place, Kerry Camwell took 7th and Ryan Leach took the 8th place in the A final. For the B Final Harry Hart took 1st and Callum Bates took 2nd, unfortunately Tom Drinkwater crashed in his practice, managed to race his first Moto but with a broken wrist was unable to complete the rest and finished 3rd in the B Final.
Now for the more senior riders at the club proving it can still be done at 30 plus, Paul Maidment took the 1st, with Senior Michael Ledlie taking the 3rd place.
Well what can I say the 16+ riders and I have to say many of them are definitely much more than 16+ we have Aran Shrosbree taking 2nd place, Matthew Allen taking 7th and Jonathan Hastings taking the 8th place in the A final, with Chris Arnold taking 4th place in the B Final. The 1st place and the £150 cash went to Alan Hill from Norwich BMX club, for a veteran he definitely gave them a run for the money !!!!
Congratulation goes to all riders from all the clubs that competed, but a big thank you also goes to all the Peterborough riders for their support. Well done.
